Are you stuck? Join a critique group!
Hi,
How is going your January so far? Did you already set all your goals for 2025? Did you already revised your 2024?
Planning is really a good thing, but we are artist and it’s always difficult, imho, of course, to be 100% focused on the plan, since I’m that person with the head in the clouds almost for four days a week.
This year I fill out my plan, but also I’m taking small steps to get things done.
I joined a critique group on local pod for the SCBWI, and I’m grateful I did!
We meet some days ago and from the hints I’ve got I had the benefit of improving my character design, also you can connect with other artists and get a different point of view about what’s you are working on, fresh look on a topic is always a good thing. So, if you feel stuck, I encourage you to look and join a critique group, even if you’re a shy or an introvert person.

My second plan is to enter as many contest as I can, I’ve never done it before, because I’m too insecure about my works, in the past I felt as I’ve never ready for that, but at least I’ve learned that if you don’t try, you’ll never know… so this year I’m going to run that mile.
Well, I’ve already entered two big contests, and we are only in January.
“Get things done” and “DONE is BETTER than Perfect”, will be my mantra this year.
